"Uh, Carl? Where's Cheyenne?" Wilbur asked, noticing that she was nowhere in sight.

"Didn't she go into that shack?" Carl replied. They both slowly turned to each other, then to the shack in realization. They ran to the shack as fast as their legs could possibly take them and stumbled on each other in a frantic attempt to open the door. Carl finally lifted the board and shoved the door open. But in the attempt, Wilbur and him fell inside and the door shut closed behind them. Cheyenne turned around after she saw the light, but quickly found it was gone.

"Carl?! Wilbur?! Is that you?" She asked desperately.

"What happened? Are you guys okay?" Carl asked.

"I'm fine, I'm okay!" Wilbur stood up off the hard ground but stumbled over his feet in the darkness.

"Ow! Okay, there's a wall right there, just to let you know," Wilbur rubbed his arm after it had hit the hard steel wall.

"Huh, the inside seems a lot bigger than the outside," Carl noticed, feeling around.

"Yeah, I noticed there's more space than I expected, you could practically dance in here!" Cheyenne agreed. But Wilbur was a little shocked by the complete darkness and stayed close to the both of them.

"Wilbur, move your hand," Cheyenne ordered. Wilbur gasped as he realized what he was doing and quickly went to a corner of the room, avoiding anyone else.

"The walls in here are a solid steel, basically impenetrable. I think we may have found something useful here, guys," Carl explained.

Suddenly, a row of lights that surrounded them in the corners kicked on. They were lights of a soft blue glow, bright enough to be able to make out the images in the room. The center tile of the room, and the biggest one, slowly began to glow a soft gold, but the light was pulsing. The tiles everyone was standing on began to turn a different color of  bright green, red and blue, and a loud noise of three music notes that did not harmonize in any way rang throughout the room. Everyone cringed as they quickly covered their ears from listening to that horrible sound.

"What's going on?!" Cheyenne yelled above the noise.

"I don't know!" Carl answered. Wilbur was still covering his ears when he stepped on another tile, causing it to light up a bright purple, and the one he was just standing on to shut off. A new music note rang throughout the room, one that harmonized a little better with the other two. Everyone stared at Wilbur with cocked eyebrows and bewilderment.

Carl carefully stepped onto the pulsing center tile, causing the one he stepped off of to shut off, and one of the music notes to stop playing. Wilbur and Cheyenne watched him, and did the same. There was barely enough room for them on the one tile, but they managed. The room was now silent.

"What is all this?" Wilbur curiously asked.

"My guess is that each of these tiles is synchronized with a music note, and the sound is activated when pressure is placed upon the tile. Pressure not only triggers sound, each tile is specially equipped with different colored LED lighting," Carl explained.

"In English please?" Wilbur asked.

"It's like a giant piano that lights up," Cheyenne explained in simpler terms.

"Well why didn't you just say that in the first place?" Wilbur questioned, rolling his eyes. But as he was rolling his eyes, he noticed something on the ceiling. It looked like a projection, but it was a word.

"Pass sequence?" He stared curiously.

"Pass what?" Cheyenne turned to him in question, and saw him looking up at the ceiling. She looked up as well, and saw what he saw. Carl looked up curiously, too.

"If my guess is right, then we need to step on a sequence of notes to play a certain code or song, if you will," Carl guessed.

"If I will what?" Wilbur asked, still staring at the ceiling.

"Never mind," Carl rolled his eyes.

"So, what song are we supposed to play?" Cheyenne asked, worriedly. "I mean, there's billions of songs out there, and if playing one song is the only way out of here..."

"We might be stuck here," Wilbur finished for her. It was silent for a minute, but then Carl had an idea.

"Cheyenne, you play piano, right? Why don't you try stepping on different notes and just see what happens?" He suggested.

"Okay," Cheyenne shrugged. She looked around at the tiles and tried to figure out which note would match which tile. She stepped on the tile nearest her, and it lit up a bright yellow, and played the lowest A note.

"Okay, so far so good." Then she stepped onto the tile to the right, and it played the lowest B. She stepped to the right again, until she circled completely around the center tile, but then came to a stop. She stepped onto the tile in front of her instead of going to the right again, and the notes progressed higher with each step, until she had circled the entire room and stepped on 88 tiles. Wilbur stepped on the first two tiles and the lowest notes back and forth for no apparent reason.

"What are you doing?" Cheyenne asked.

"It's the Jaws theme! You know? Dun dun...dun dun...dun dun dun dun..."

"Okay! We got it!" Cheyenne stopped him.

"Well..." Wilbur stepped back onto the center tile.

"So now that we know which notes are which, we could just mess around," Cheyenne suggested. She stepped onto middle C, then stepped on another at the same time.

"This is even harder when the black keys just blend in with everything," she sighed.

"Maybe you have to play a song that doesn't have any sharps or flats in it," Carl suggested.

"That might actually narrow the song choices down a bit," Cheyenne smiled.

"Well what if it's not a pre-made song? What if it's somebody's own personal theme song? Like this..." Wilbur began randomly stepping on different notes that didn't quite harmonize like he wanted. He obviously never played piano before.

"That's the coolest theme song I never wanted to hear," Cheyenne stared blankly at Wilbur. But he stood back on the center tile and stuck his tongue out at her.

"Now Wilbur, is that any way to treat your girlfriend?" Carl teased.

"Do you want me to hide all the oil in the house?" Wilbur glared at Carl, not in the mood for jokes, especially these kind. Carl shut his mouth.

"Have you guys heard of chopsticks?" Cheyenne asked. They both nodded.

"Do you really think it'd be that easy?" Carl asked.

"Worth a shot," Cheyenne shrugged and walked to the F and G notes.

"I'm going to step on F and G six times, then E and G six times, then I'm going to go over to D on my left, and one of you needs to go to B and do that with me. Then we'll go to both Cs. Got it?" Cheyenne planned.

"I'll do it!" Wilbur called out. "Now which one's are B and C?"

"They're two notes to my right. I won't be able to reach them so you need to step on it at the same time as me, and we do it six times, okay?" Wilbur nodded.

Cheyenne stepped on F and G together six times, then E and G, then cued Wilbur to step on B while she stepped on D, then they moved to C.

"Is that it?" Wilbur asked. Nothing had happened so he was curious.

"Wait! Look!" Carl pointed to the ceiling. There was a different word now.

"Uh...if it's a secret pass sequence, why would they want to give us a hint?" Cheyenne stared at it strangely.

"Maybe they can see our pathetic efforts and feel sorry for us," Wilbur shrugged.

"Anyway, how would we say 'yes, we want a hint'?" Cheyenne asked. Carl stomped on the center tile, and it stopped pulsing, then shut off. So did the projection above them, and the rest of the lights.

"And now it's dark," Wilbur glared at Carl, even though he couldn't really see him anymore.

All of a sudden, one of the tiles lit up, but it was much dimmer than before, and no sound was heard.

"Hey Cheyenne, I think they want you to follow the notes," Carl pointed to the tile. Cheyenne shrugged and jumped onto it.

As she stepped onto it, it brightened and played a note. Another tile was dimly lit, so she jumped onto that one, and it lit up. She followed every note that was dimmed, until there were two notes that were dimmed.

"Wilbur, a little assistance if you don't mind," she pointed to the tiles. Wilbur jumped onto the second one the same time she did. They did this together for what seemed like 5 minutes or longer, until, finally, all the lights shut off, and no sound was to be heard.

"And now it's dark again," Wilbur groaned. But it wasn't for long. One of the walls opened up to reveal a travel tube that only went one way: down. The same time as that, the center tile fell open, and another travel tube appeared. But this one had a two way option: up or down.

"Great, now that we have permission to pass, where is it we're supposed to pass through?" Cheyenne asked with a cocked brow.

"I think we should separate," Wilbur suggested.

"What are you nuts?" Cheyenne yelled. "We can't just go different ways when we don't even know what this place is, who built all this, and where those tubes lead-- and he's gone."

The whole time she was talking, Wilbur was going into the tube that only went down, and was gone before she was done.

"We have to go after him!" Carl cried. "Let's go in this one." Carl walked into the up and down one, and so did Cheyenne. And then they disappeared from the room.
